From the Editor
Exciting news to start with this month as we have increased our circulation and now deliver to Abington. Welcome to our new readers! If you haven’t seen NN Pulse Magazine before we are full of all things local and are delivered to your house every month, absolutely free of charge; we hope you enjoy the read!
By now the weather has (hopefully) started to warm up and with it brings a growth-spurt to weeds. Weekends will soon start to fill with the distant hum of lawn mowers and that smell of freshly cut grass will fill the air and scream “summer’s here!” I can’t wait! If you aren’t sure what you should be doing the garden (aside from grass cutting), our resident expert gardener David Williams offers his top-tips for the month. While the team at Canons Ashby have some great ideas on how to encourage wildlife into our gardens.
April is all about food, as The Northampton Food Festival returns to Beckets Park in May. We have a family ticket to give away to this delicious day out.
Althorp House also sees the return of its Food & drink Festival and we are giving two lucky readers the chance to win Festival tickets and a House Tour.
If baking is your thing, Help for Heroes is once again asking the great British public to dust off their aprons and get baking to raise lots of dough for our wounded, injured and sick personnel, veterans and their families. Read more inside to find out how you can get involved.
If you have been following the restoration of Delapré Abbey you will know this iconic building is preparing to open its doors to the public this year. The Conservatory Café opens in April and we take a look at the food and beverages on offer. Once open, I encourage everyone to pop along. Not only to see how the house is coming along but to sample to the cake. It looks divine!
It’s Easter this month and with it two Bank Holidays - hooray! If you’re looking for something to do with the little ones, check out our What’s On Guide at the back of the magazine - There are Easter Egg hunts and all sorts going on around the county.
As well as the latest news, we have our regular Soduko, Crossword and Horoscopes. The Mayor gives his round up for the month, while Laura Malpas goes History Hunting at Boughton.
Have a great Easter everyone and I’ll see you in May.
