NN February 17
From the Editor
Love is in the air as most of us prepare to spend a romantic evening with a partner. If you like Indian food and want to spend Valentines out, Calcutta Brasserie in Stony Stratford have some special offers for the evening along with live entertainment.
Alternatively, if you are looking for an unusual gift, how about a ‘floating experience’ with your partner? (Don’t worry - you’ll be in separate pods!) Newly opened Floatation Life in Crownhill, Milton Keynes are the only floatation spa in the area, I tried it only last week and can thoroughly recommend the experience. Totally relaxing and quite a cool gift! More on that in our next edition.
February, the month when British Snowdrops display their beauty in our local woods and parks. One stately home north of Corby professes to have one of the best displays in Northamptonshire and opens its doors in a spectacular Snowdrop Sunday. Laura Malpas takes a look at this beautiful house and (of course) its Snowdrops.
We welcome interior designer Rosie Kinsella who takes a closer look at hygge. Whilst a newly emerging trend in the UK, the Danes have been embracing hygge and enriching their lives with the concept, for several hundred years. Some exciting news from us is that NN Pulse Magazine has expanded to offer a desktop and mobile responsive news website. Not only will Pulse Magazine continue to publish NN Pulse Magazine in print, but now you can catch up with all local news, views and stories by logging on to www.nnpulse.co.uk.
2017 is the year of the Fire Rooster and is the tenth in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac sign. Northampton will be celebrating Chinese New Year on the Market Square, as we welcome a mix of traditional entertainment including dragon and lion dances, acrobats and martial arts demonstrations - there will also be a face changing artist flown in specially from China. I can’t wait. To everyone celebrating this month, happy CNY!
