NN July 16
From the EditorWelcome to the July edition of NN Pulse. With bated breath I hope the long summer days will be plentiful with minimal rain – especially because of all the fabulous festivals that take place this month. John Best from Arts Gateway gives a round up of six of the best festivals in Buckingham, Milton Keynes and Northampton, which is definitely worth a look. All three towns are using cultural events to raise their spirits and put their place on the map, but each town’s offer is distinctive: they have to be, to unglue people from their screens and sofas, so try and get along to them if you can – see pages 40–42.
If fashion is your thing, our expert Cindy Hudson advises on this season’s trendy colours – be warned, they’re bright! But will look stunning during the warm summer months with a cold Pimms.
Canons Ashby has been famous for its topiary for over 300 years, and features a variety of techniques. Gardening experts Chris and Nadine from these National Trust gardens tell us about the topiary gardens and offer gardening advice for the month of July – see pages 22–23.
Tim Saunders test drives the Hyundai Tucson, while Adam Tudor-Lane samples McLaren’s latest offering, the 570GT – anyone got a spare £154,000?
Enjoy July folks and I'll see you again in August.
