NN November 2015
From the Editor
This morning I saw an advert on one of the popular social media sites from a local newspaper; It was titled ‘UK headed for the coldest and longest winter ever’. Truth is, I am not sure if I believe them – even if a certain Bewick’s Swan disagrees! Nevertheless, the mornings are certainly getting colder and by the time this edition lands on your doormat, the nights will be darker too. Boo!
On the plus side however, Christmas is just around the corner and you now have the latest edition of NN Pulse Magazine! So sit back and relax while we bring you all the news, views and gossip from around the county.
Inside this month Canons Ashby House and Gardens bring us the latest tips for things to do in the garden in November and if you’re anything like me and not sure what to do first, this feature will definitely help. Also, Jonathon Vernon–Smith from BBC Three Counties advises us on the new Consumer Rights Act. There has been a lot in the press recently about this – especially as more of us are buying online, which is totally different to high street shopping. A well worth, handy read, I think.
The Greedy Geezers are back this time with a fabulous beef stew that is sure to warm the cockles and a tempting banoffee pie that looks delicious and will do nothing to help you get into that little black dress you were hoping to resurrect for the Christmas party (but it’s worth it!). Speaking of Fashion if you are stuck for things to wear the shops are starting to stock up with their festive finishes and Cindy Hudson brings us her personal favourites on page 31.
We have some great competitions inside this month’s edition, ranging from a whopping £300 spending spree at the brand new North Face store in intu, Milton Keynes (I think the aforementioned Swan would recommend their cold gear!) to a Supercar Driving Experience at Silverstone (A handy Christmas present me thinks!) It’s a cliché but ‘you have to be in it to win it', so make sure you enter – anyone of you could win!
As Christmas is just around the corner we have another great gift guide to give you some inspiration and some fabulous book reviews suitable for all ages, so if your family like to read make sure you look at pages 18 and 19.
Ok so I best sign off and let you read the magazine – please do get in touch if you have anything to contribute for our December edition and remember to keep in touch with us on Social Media – @PulseMagazines on Twitter and Pulse Magazine on Facebook.
